Her hair fell like silk through her fingers. It was the first thing I noticed about her, she was vain but rightfully so. Her beauty blinded this poor fool. She knew just what to do to get what she wanted, a smile here, a giggle there. It worked like a charm. When we first met she had a collection of admirers, I was one in a hundred, but the day she accepted my proposal I felt like a god among men. She made me complete, no...she made me more than complete.

Her skin is so soft, rose petals bathed in milk. I refused to see it so long. I worked in the markets all day so that she could wear the finest cloth of the richest colors. I swayed to her every whim. When those little signs showed up, I believed her excuses. Obviously she had a close connection to her family; she claimed her cousins visited often. That is why the house always smelt of men. They were tired from the journey, which is why the bedding stunk of them. Years have passed; I have never met any of these so called cousins.

Her lips, a cherry blossom waiting to be plucked, so small yet so full. She always painted them, but now it's my turn to give it a try. Jealousy and greed are evil things, but they eat away at me. They force my hand down, harder, until I saw red on my blade. She's sobbing now, reminding me of her love. All I ask is for the truth, for their names. But she won't admit it. I drop a bag in her lap, its dripping at this point, dripping blood all over her fine clothing. She screams when she opens the bag, yes...that was the one.

Her eyes are drops of warm honey, looking right through me. I turn my eyes away, as though if our eyes were to meet she would know my horrible thoughts. She sits there, so content with her new jewels. I ask myself once more why I do this but all that comes from my mouth is "I love you."
